Senior Infrastructure Engineer

About the Opportunity:

A growing healthcare organization in the Portland metro area is seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who thrives on designing, implementing, and managing enterprise infrastructure while mentoring the next generation of IT professionals.

What You'll Do:

Design, implement, and manage advanced network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security
Oversee server and datacenter operations, including installation, configuration, and maintenance
Lead on-premise to Azure cloud migration projects for critical business applications
Develop and maintain IT policies and procedures aligned with ITIL best practices
Ensure compliance with NIST, HIPAA, and regulatory standards
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and minimize downtime
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic business objectives
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
Responsible for the hygiene of the company infrastructure

Required Qualifications:

Experience:

Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering or similar role
Demonstrated ability to design and architect IT solutions and lead technical projects

Technical Skills:

Advanced networking: routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
Extensive server and datacenter management experience
Deep expertise in Microsoft technologies including:
Windows Server and Active Directory administration
Azure cloud services
Virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, VMware)
SQL Server
Enterprise systems management (SCCM, SCOM)
Backup and disaster recovery solutions
Experience with on-premise to Azure cloud migrations
Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices
PowerShell scripting and automation

Core Competencies:

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with effective prioritization

Preferred Qualifications:

ITIL v4 Foundation certification
CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
Healthcare IT or HIPAA-regulated environment experience

Work Environment:
